Montgomery Pride United is proud to present our Safe Faith and Affirmation Spaces: LGBTQ+ Alabama Resource Guide! Our Affirming Communities Coordinator, Jessi-Alex Brandon, has compiled this list of LGBTQ+-affirming places of worship and spiritual spaces since August 2021 in partnership with the Trevor Project. Since our founding, we’ve noticed a need for LGBTQIA+ people in our communities to know of safe spaces where they can practice their spiritualities without fear of judgment or condemnation.
With this resource guide, not only have we confirmed over 40 safe spiritual spaces across the state, we’ve also included online groups, LGBTQ+ people of faith social media accounts to follow, and additional resource guides for LGBTQ+ people of faith, in order to provide the most comprehensive resource guide possible. We are honored to have built this guide for our LGBTQ+ Alabamians. And a huge thank you to the Trevor Project for partnering with us and helping to bring this guide to life.
