Located in the heart of Montgomery, we are a safe space uniting our community and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights.


Who We Are


Montgomery Pride United is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization which provides resources for underserved populations and advocates for the LGBTQ+ community. As a safe space, we are dedicated to providing services such as support groups, emergency food / clothing, community gatherings for progressive groups, and more.

Where We Are

We are located at the Bayard Rustin Community Center and Thrift Store. Our center is named after civil rights activist, Bayard Rustin. Bayard was an indispensable force behind the civil rights movement alongside Martin Luther King Jr. and openly gay. Our center hopes to carry on his legacy of advocacy, education, queer liberation, and unity.

and Services

Montgomery Pride United engages in community outreach, provides resources for educating others about LGBTQ+ issues, and establishes a safe space to meet and socialize. Below are just a few of the services and programs that we offer:

  • Monthly Out&Proud Music, Open Mic, and Crafts night

  • Grief and loss support group

  • Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming Community Night

  • Bi-weekly MPU meetings

  • Monthly YOGA classes

  • Free food and clothing pantry

  • Sexual wellness resources

  • Education resources

  • LGBTQ+ Workshops for groups, schools, and churches
