Who We Are
Montgomery Pride United is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization which provides resources for underserved populations and advocates for the LGBTQ+ community. As a safe space, we are dedicated to providing services such as support groups, emergency food / clothing, community gatherings for progressive groups, and more.
Where We Are
We are located at the Bayard Rustin Community Center and Thrift Store. Our center is named after civil rights activist, Bayard Rustin. Bayard was an indispensable force behind the civil rights movement alongside Martin Luther King Jr. and openly gay. Our center hopes to carry on his legacy of advocacy, education, queer liberation, and unity.
Montgomery Pride United engages in community outreach, provides resources for educating others about LGBTQ+ issues, and establishes a safe space to meet and socialize. Below are the services and programs that we offer:
Monthly music and crafts night
Grief and loss support group
Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming support group
Bi-weekly MPU meetings
Free food pantry
Sexual wellness resources
LGBTQ+ Workshops for groups, schools, and churches
Celebrate with us here in Montgomery for our PRIDE festival Sunday, June 30 at Eat South, and our march and rally the day before on the 29th.
