Why this resource guide?

Montgomery Pride United is proud to present our Safe Faith and Affirmation Spaces: LGBTQ+ Alabama Resource Guide! Our Affirming Communities Coordinator, Jessi-Alex Brandon, has compiled this list of LGBTQ+-affirming places of worship and spiritual spaces since August 2021 in partnership with the Trevor Project. Since our founding, we’ve noticed a need for LGBTQIA+ people in our communities to know of safe spaces where they can practice their spiritualities without fear of judgment or condemnation. We’ve confirmed over 40 safe spiritual spaces across the state including online groups and additional resource guides.
