University of Nevada at Las Vegas School of Public Health is partnering with SAGE: Advocacy & Services for LGBTQ+ Elders in a national survey to be conducted every 2 years, to assess the well being of queer folk as we age.
This research study focuses on learning more about LGBTQ+ people aged 50 and older across the country, including their experiences, needs, and resiliencies as they get older. The information you provide about your experiences will help us to identify what kinds of healthcare and related services may be important for LGBTQ+ older people from diverse backgrounds. You are being asked to participate in the study because you meet the following criteria: You are aged 50 or older and you identify as LGBTQ+.
If you agree to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete a one-time survey that may take 30 to 45 minutes. This study includes only a minimal risk related to potential psychological discomfort when discussing sensitive matters related to your health and life experiences.
Participation in research is voluntary. You may choose either to take part or not to take part in the study. If you decide to take part in this study, you may leave the study at any time. No matter what decision you make, there will be no penalty to you in any way. You will not lose any of your regular benefits, and you can still access services the way you usually do.
If you have any questions about the study, please contact Dr. Jason Flatt, Assistant Professor at UNLV at 702-895-5586.
