Transgender Visibility March on Montgomery

Saturday, September 28 2019 is the first Annual National Transgender March on Washington DC.

It is being mirrored with events all across the United States and will be joined here in Montgomery to express our solidarity and demands for equality.

The Transgender Visibility March on Montgomery will begin at the Bayard Rustin Community Center at 635 Madison Ave, Montgomery AL 36104 at 11:00 AM and end on the Capital steps with speeches from 11:30 - 12:30.

Transgender and gender non-conforming speakers and allies from across the state will present their stands on issues which affect us as a community as well as our advancements and achievements.

Although the Transgender Day of Visibility is recognized on March 31 each year, and the Transgender Day of Remembrance is honored each November 20, this event is critically needed to advance Trans rights - especially here in Alabama - and the visibility of these events all across the US will help bring public awareness to the discrimination our community faces on a daily basis.

On the evening of the March there will be a fundraiser with refreshments and entertainment to support the Community Center and the progressive work being done here.
