2020 Vigil for Victims of Hate & Violence

Our annual vigil will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 4pm.

The Vigil for Victims of Hate and Violence has been held every year since 1999 when Billy Jack Gaither was beaten to death and burned in Sylacauga because he was gay. In other states his murder would be considered a hate crime, but not in Alabama. We honor and remember the many lives our LGBTQ+ community has lost due to hate and violence.
